You might not have heard of me before. That’s okay—I’m not here to sell you a brand, I’m here to work for you. I don’t hang out with billionaires, I don’t have some fancy title, and I’m not interested in playing politics as usual. I’m just a guy who believes the government should work for the people, not the powerful or the privileged.
I didn’t grow up dreaming of a political career—I grew up in a middle class family in Mankato, Minnesota (yes, where Tim Walz taught high school). My Dad was a professor at the local college and my mom was a social worker for the county. Believing in service and doing what’s right, in high school, I served as the acting Scoutmaster for our local Boy Scout troop, where I learned the power of leadership, community, and giving back. After high school, I chose to serve my country and earned a congressional nomination to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Upon graduation, I completed six strategic deterrence patrols aboard a ballistic missile nuclear-powered submarine, where I learned what it truly means to lead under pressure and put others first. After my time in the Navy, I earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and went into investment banking covering the high-tech industry as a stock market analyst then working at a hedge fund as an assistant portfolio manager. More recently, I’ve worked in Silicon Valley at two high-tech startups, witnessing firsthand the magic of entrepreneurship and innovation that makes America the envy of the world.
Now I am running for Congress in CA-41 to fight for working families, protect Social Security and Medicaid, ensure healthcare and affordable housing for all, and bring honor and integrity back to Washington.
Luchando por la familia, la justicia, la dignidad y el respeto.
Build. Believe. Belong.
