💀 Cut Medicaid, Kill Communities: Trump’s “Big, Beautiful” Betrayal 💀

Subtitle: Guess who’s footing the bill for Trump’s tax breaks for billionaires? (Hint: It’s not billionaires.)

Let’s get something straight: when Republicans talk about “fiscal responsibility,” what they really mean is “punish the poor to reward the rich.” And Trump’s latest “big, beautiful bill” is no exception — it’s an economic hit job on 70 million Americans who rely on Medicaid, disguised as reform.

The GOP has found $880 billion to “save,” and by “save” they mean slash out of Medicaid — the only health care safety net keeping millions of working families, kids, seniors, and people with disabilities alive. Why? So they can pay for another round of Trump tax cuts that mostly benefit hedge funds, private jets, and Qatari billionaires who apparently give out luxury 747s like party favors.

And don’t fall for the spin. “Waste, fraud, and abuse”? Please. What they’re really slashing is basic human dignity.

Under this bill, if you're a working adult making slightly over the poverty line and can't prove it twice a year in person at a government office 30 miles away? You're out.
Have a home worth over $1 million in a high-cost housing market like California but live off savings or disability? You're out.
Can’t meet 80 hours of work a month while juggling school or caregiving? Bye-bye coverage.
Are you an undocumented immigrant with a medical emergency in New York? You’re now a line item.

This isn’t policy. This is cruelty with a spreadsheet.

And here's where it gets so grotesque, it borders on satire: even Josh Hawley thinks this is a bad idea. That’s right. Senator “Fist-Pump to the Insurrectionists” is now the moral compass of the Republican Party — and by comparison, he's looking like Florence Nightingale.

Hawley — yes, that Hawley — is out here sounding like a Bernie surrogate, calling Medicaid cuts “morally wrong and politically suicidal.” Why? Because, as he admits, his own voters need it to survive. And not just in theory — in real life. He tells the story of a Missouri mother whose daughter requires a feeding tube, a pump, and thousands of dollars in monthly care that private insurance simply won’t cover. Without Medicaid? “We would lose everything,” she writes.

And yet the GOP is plowing ahead.
Because when you’re a corporatist masquerading as a populist, it’s easy to pretend you’re cutting “waste” when what you’re really cutting is a child’s feeding tube.

Even Trump — the guy whose name is literally on the bill — is now backpedaling, mumbling that he “never said” he’d cut Medicaid. Cute. Maybe he’ll blame the deep state next. But meanwhile, the House GOP is steamrolling toward Memorial Day with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball in a maternity ward.

Make no mistake: this isn’t just an attack on Medicaid.
It’s an attack on working people. On rural hospitals. On seniors. On parents. On children. On you.

And let’s talk about that GOP hypocrisy for one last second. They’re cutting Medicaid to “save money” — while preserving $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for corporations and the ultra-wealthy. That’s not fiscal discipline. That’s class warfare in a MAGA hat.

This bill is a betrayal — not just of the American people, but of the very idea that in this country, health care shouldn’t be a privilege for the wealthy.

As a Democrat running for Congress in CA-41, let me say it plainly:

I will never vote to cut Medicaid. Period.
Not for billionaires. Not for tax breaks. Not for lobbyists. Not for anyone.

Because a civilized nation doesn’t rip health care away from its most vulnerable to prop up yachts and stock options.

And if Republicans want to run as the party of “America First,” maybe they should start by putting Americans first — not the 1%, not their donors, and not a giant golden bill stuffed with cruelty.

Medicaid is not a luxury. It’s a lifeline. And I will fight like hell to protect it.
